Position Summary:

Our clients are a lovely family based in Greenwich, Connecticut who are looking for a Family Assistant to share in the care of their young daughter and provide valuable support around the home and in the family’s daily lives.

The ideal candidate has experience of working with a pre-school child, is a strong partner to the parents, and is highly organized. A self-starter who enjoys supporting a busy family and anticipating their needs will do well in this role. The right individual is a team player, competent, hardworking, detail oriented and communicates clearly. You should be kind, active, fun-loving, and adaptable.

The Family Assistant will travel with the family several times per year.

Childcare Responsibilities:

• Build and nurture a connection with the child and provide care, warmth, and security.
• Drive to and from school and to the child’s activities outside of the home.
• Stay abreast of educational and development milestones.
• Prepare fresh and healthy meals and snacks; expand the child’s palate.
• Plan educational activities or activities to keep them engaged. i.e. museums, parks etc.
• Actively engage and communicate with the child; playing, singing etc. E
• Engage with other Nannies and parents to encourage and nurture friendships with other children, including playdates and social development.

Household Responsibilities:

• Perform daily graces of the home.
• Shop for household supplies and groceries, child’s clothing, sports equipment, etc.
• Work as a team with the principal to ensure the family’s day runs smoothly.
• Child related housekeeping including laundry, sheets, etc.
• Schedule and oversee household vendors.
• Assist with the care of a small, well-trained dog.
• Household management, including scheduling appointments, reservations and signing up for child’s activities and camps.

Qualifications:

• Five plus years of experience in a similar role.
• First Aid and CPR Certified or willing to be certified and a strong swimmer.
• Outstanding references with related experience.
• Previous travel experience and adaptability
• Must be tech savvy with the ability to manage the family calendar and send emails.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
• Fluency in Spanish a plus.
• Long term intent

Schedule:

This is a full-time, year-round position. Generally, Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 7:30pm with some flexibility required evenings and weekends.

Compensation:

Compensation of $45-50/hour with benefits, depending on experience and qualifications.
