Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is seeking an experienced Program Specialist to manage and perform work involving project milestones and budgets. The Program Specialist will provide advice and guidance to program and project managers on interpretation and formation of technical, functional and program management strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Reviews individual project progress, measuring performance and recommending corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost as well as overall program accomplishments.
• Formulates alternative action proposals on the basis of review findings.
• Documents and provides results of specific business process re-engineering initiatives and alternative action proposals.
• Monitors individual project objectives, milestones, and budgets within the overall program objectives. Prepares correspondence relevant to projects/programs.
• Responsible for a variety of administrative, business, and operational functions necessary to run a government program(s) efficiently.
• Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of DoD funding process, Program Office Estimate Development and budget forecasting
• Expert knowledge of Defense Acquisition policies and regulations including Major Systems Acquisition, Middle Tier Acquisition, and Urgent Capabilities Acquisition
• Experience preparing, planning, and conducting Weapon System Reviews and Milestone Decisions to include associated documentation
• Experience planning and orchestrating Integrated Product Teams
• Knowledge of Acquisition Discipline, audits, and compliance monitoring
• Knowledge of FAR, DFAR, AFARS, OTA, and contracting strategies
• Experience with Army planning cycle including POM, APBB, SPAR, and FIRB
• Experience with budget execution (OSD Goals), program reviews, QPR, EOM, fiscal law, appropriations

The minimum years of related experience required: 

• Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience
• 10 years of military service can be utilized as relevant experience
