Adapted Recreation Water Walking Program Leader- Summer 2024

MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider. We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50 fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.

Program Description:

Self-directed or MSCR-supported free time in a warm water pool for people with disabilities. Activities may include floating on noodles, water basketball, and swimming.

Job Description & Duties:

Provide socialization and guidance to people with disabilities during an MSCR staff-supported free time in warm water pool. Assist with personal care issues in the locker room as necessary.

Program Dates: 6/17/2024-8/14/2024

Work Location: Lapham Elementary

Hours/week: Up to 6 hours per week for this position (can be combined with other positions).

Work hours: 6:30-8:30pm

Application Deadline: Open until filled.

Payrate: 15.00 - 15.00 /hour

Minimum Qualifications:

Interest in working with adults with disabilities.
