Adapted Programs Pickleball Instructor- Summer 2024
MSCR or Madison School & Community Recreation is Madison’s public recreation provider. We offer everything you would find in your typical community rec department in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming, arts & enrichment, adult & 50 fitness, sport leagues, outdoor pursuits and more. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District(MMSD), we also provide afterschool and summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools.
Program Description:
Adapted Pickleball is open to individuals with disabilities ages 13 and their caregivers/families.
Job Description & Duties:
Provide instruction on the skills and rules of Pickleball to individuals with disabilities. Encourage socialization among participants in a supportive learning environment. While an understanding of the game is preferred, staff can be trained on Pickleball rules and requirements prior to program start. Staff will be responsible for court setup/breakdown as well as the management of equipment.
Start Date: 6/11/2024
Program Dates: 6/18/2024-8/13/2024
Work Location: MSCR West
Hours/week: 2 hours/week (can be combined with other opportunities).
Work hours: 3-5pm Tuesdays
Application Deadline: Open until filled.
Payrate: 18.00 - 18.00 /hour
Minimum Qualifications:
Experience working with people with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Adapted recreation experience.
