Garden Center Associate

Lynde Greenhouse & Nursery is looking for individuals with retail and customer service experience to join our Garden Center Team! This position will focus on merchandising/displaying products, maintaining those products as well as our retail store and greenhouse to achieve an enjoyable shopping experience, and assisting with any and all customer service needs. This position is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is retail and customer service oriented to learn more about our industry and gain new and useful plant knowledge to help our customers succeed in achieving their plant and gardening goals. This position does not require any previous experience maintaining or taking care of plant material as you will have plenty of time for us to help you gain that knowledge while you assist us in creating an in-store experience for our customers that focuses on helpfulness and positivity.

Job Requirements:

· High-School Diploma, GED or equivalent.

· Ability to lift 40-50lbs. and work in all weather conditions for up to 8 hours a day.

· Strong customer service skills

· Strong communication skills - willingness to learn and pass along newly acquired knowledge to customers in person and over the phone.

· Ability and willingness to clean and maintain all indoor and outdoor shopping spaces including parking areas and restrooms.

Additional Skills (but no required):

· Having a flexible schedule

· Gardening experience with annuals, perennials, or houseplants

· Prior experience operating equipment/machinery, or the ability and willingness to learn how to operate a skid-steer loader

· Design experience or experience creating aesthetically pleasing spaces and displays.
