Who we are looking for: The ideal candidate will be mission-driven with a desire to make a difference for families and communities served by LCS Northwest.The Role: We are looking for a Program Support Specialist to work within the Asylum Assistance Program, specializing in housing navigation and other housing-related services. This position is responsible for providing direct support services to a small caseload of asylum-seeking individuals and families, and working closely with other case managers to make sure the client’s needs are met. This is a chance to be a key player among a team of professionals who work tirelessly to make a difference in the lives of immigrant families going through adjustment of status. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Responsible for maintaining and managing the Asylum Housing Assistance Program (AHAP) by assessing client’s eligibility, enrolling and providing housing navigation services and rental assistance to asylum seekers. Coordinate the processing of rental assistance request forms with Program Supervisor, Program Director and Accounts Payable.Develop and sustain relationships with landlords and property managers to generate housing opportunities for asylum-seeker and asylee clients.Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate case management to asylum seekers and newly granted asylees.Assess client’s social determinants of health needs and connect them to proper resources and benefits. Coordinate referrals to community resources and supports that will help them achieve plan goals.Collaborate and strengthen relationships with community partners and agencies.Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the population servedPerformed other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field. 2 years of work experience in case management and/or social services 2 years of housing navigation experienceBilingual or multilingual Familiarity with refugee resettlement program, asylum law, and related challengesMust be neat, organized, detail oriented, and accurateMust be able to work well under pressure and be comfortable in a multicultural settingMust be able to multitask and set prioritiesAbility to manage time efficiently and work independentlyPossess strong organizational skills BENEFITS: We offer a full benefits package with options for medical, vision and dental insurance. Employer-paid short and long-term disability, as well as life insurance. Vacation includes up to 2 weeks in the first year, with an increase up to 3 weeks in the second year and incrementally up to 5 weeks after 6 years (based on hours worked). Up to 2 ½ weeks of Sick leave for you or to take care of your immediate family (based on hours worked). 10 Paid Holidays plus 2 Floating Holidays each year. A 403(b) Retirement plan, with employer matching contributions after meeting eligibility requirements. Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is designed to help and support you.
