Lumenance is Hiring a Powersport Vehicle Design Engineer (Mechanical) Near Marysville, OH
Lumenance is seeking qualified engineers to help our client develop plastic and metal parts for ATVs, Side-by-Sides and other Honda Powersports equipment.
Job Duties
Utilize CATIA V5 to perform the mechanical design (3D 2D) and packaging of plastic and sheet metal parts from styling surface data
Manage artwork and drawing creation for labels and graphics, collaborating with styling, validation, and regulatory functions to ensure compliance with regulations and vehicle concept targets
Coordinate with styling studio, other design engineers, suppliers, and factories to ensure all requirements are understood and cross-functional needs are addressed
Ensure assigned parts and assemblies incorporate form, fit, function, and manufacturability requirements
Manage one's schedule for all assignments. Includes tracking of project schedule and working overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
Track the cost of assigned parts and systems
As requested, investigating new technology and industry trends that will evolve into improved or new products
Requirements
Education
4 year engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electromechanical, or similar) or a 2-year degree with at least 6 years related experience
Required Skills
Strong CATIA V5/V6 skills - including GSD, Sheet Metal Design, Part Design, Assembly Design, Drafting workbenches
Proficient with Adobe Illustrator for artwork creation (with focus on labels and graphics)
Understanding of injection molding, stamping, and manufacturing technologies use to create automotive parts and assemblies so as to allow one to create feasible mechanical designs
Competent in dimensional tolerance stack-ups and application
Competent analytical, problem solving, judgement, decision-making and prioritization
Competent drawing and layout skills/techniques, include understanding of CAE principle
Must be able to solve engineering problems and take initiative in supporting overall development team's assignments
Ability to manage one's assignments and meet critical deadlines
Research, plan, and design parts/systems, including design feasibility and cost analysis, consideration for manufacturability, strength calculations, material selection, part construction, part specification, scheduling/coordinating activities involved in prototyping, fabricating and manufacturing of assigned parts and systems
Maintain accurate technical, development, and administrative documentation as required
Experience riding or familiarity with ATVs or Side-by-Sides not required, but desired
