Assistant Toddler Teacher (Age 1 to 3)

Pay: Hourly expectations are based upon experience

Luma Montessori is a modern early childhood daycare that stimulates young absorbent minds of emerging learners from 1 year old through Pre-K.

Luma delivers children-centered pedagogy, which provides individualized curriculum, and transparent assessment plans that result in uncommonly academic preparation with spaces that inspire true learning.

Requirements

· Montessori certification or willingness to go through the Montessori NAMC training.

· CDA (Child development Associate) certification preferred but not required.

· High school diploma.

· 2 years of Prior experience working in early childhood education, preferably within a Montessori setting and or daycare.

· CPR certified and Basic first aid training is a huge plus but not required!

· Ability to lift approximately up to 70 lbs.

· May be required to kneel, bend, squat, sit on the floor for extended periods of time, or crawl to accommodate children on a day-to-day basis.

· Excellent problem-solving skills.

· On-the-job training recommended

· A passion for early Montessori childhood Education.

Key Responsibilities

Assistants should support the Teacher’s work in the classroom and assist children with lunch, napping, toileting, and outdoor play. Assistants collaborate with Teachers to create a nurturing and caring Montessori classroom community where freedom of choice, routines and clear expectations allow young children to flourish.

The ideal candidate is warm, reliable, organized, studious, flexible and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to help facilitate with technology. Experience with children is preferred. Previous experience in a Montessori environment is not required; however, candidates must be willing to learn about the ideology of a Montessori environment and implement them throughout the workday. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
