Job Purpose

To study current production processes, recommend improvements, and provide design requirements for capital project development and implementation. Successful candidates will develop broad, comprehensive knowledge and experience of the overall business in a plant environment, including but not limited to safety, manufacturing processes and products, process improvement, engineering, finance, & special projects.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:

• Maintain mass & energy balance updates across 12 facilities.
• Develop process designs and drawings including simulations, PFD’s, P&ID’s, & general arrangements.
• Collaborate with R&D and other teams to integrate various technologies and process systems.
• Work with Growth and Innovation Development and Marketing during early product development to assure new processes and products are designed for manufacturability.
• Work with project managers on mid-sized to large capital projects to provide process documents and standard operating procedures.
• Conduct special projects/studies, as opportunities arise, relating to technology and capital effectiveness.
• Engage in business or regional business team activities associated with the development of their strategic and operating plans.
• Recommends project submittals that are consistent with business and functional objectives.
• Conduct benchmarking and competitive research to keep up with best practices and to assure that our corporate process technology leads the industry.
• Participate as a sponsor or team member in business process improvement within the company.
• Assume responsibility for personal safety and for the safety performance of all personnel, projects and programs managed.
• Maintain Engineering records according to corporate Records Retention Guidelines.

What do I need to be successful?

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in one or more of the following fields: process engineering, capital project management, manufacturing
• Or any combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
• Knowledge of building products industry, equipment, and processes.
• The ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering to a variety of complex business problems.
• The ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data.
• The ability to design a system, component, or process to meet desired needs.
• The ability to function on multi-disciplinary teams.
• The ability to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems.
• An understanding of professional and ethical responsibility.
• The ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
• The broad education and experience necessary to understand the impact of engineering solutions in a business and manufacturing environment.
• The ability to use the techniques, skills and modern engineering tools necessary for engineering practice.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
• Familiar with latest modeling software including but not limited to AutoCAD & Navisworks

Education

• BS in Engineering, applied science, or related field (or equivalent)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license desirable

• Hybrid: Home Office / Plant Environment
• Travel required
