Job Description:
The Department of Communication Studies at Louisiana State University seeks a full-time instructor who will also serve as the Director of Forensics for the Mixon Lyceum Speech and Debate Team. In addition to teaching a 3-3 course load in the Department of Communication Studies, this instructor would be responsible for coaching, traveling, running tournaments, and fundraising for the speech and debate program. The Mixon Lyceum Speech and Debate Team is a comprehensive program as students participate in AFA style individual events, and IPDA.
Job Responsibilities:
Teach courses and hold regular office hours - 75%
Serve as Director of Forensics for Mixon Lyceum Speech and Debate Team - 20%
Other duties as assigned - 5%
Requirements will include a master’s or equivalent degree, evidence of outstanding teaching, and experience with forensics (preferably with directing or assisting the direction of a comprehensive speech and debate program).
