Los Angeles Police Federal Credit Union is seeking a dynamic Business Development Officer to help accelerate our growth in new regions. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to support members of the law enforcement community by improving their financial wellbeing and quality of life. We have developed unique, differentiated banking products designed specifically for the law enforcement community. Your job will be to advocate for members of our Credit Union by recommending the products and services that best fit their needs. This position offers the sense of fulfillment that comes with working for a not-for-profit with a rich tradition of service, autonomy, and variety. You’ll spend most of your time in the field, but your home is your home base.
Responsibilities
Represent our brand and core values.
Open new Credit Union memberships and cross sell banking products to existing members.
Regularly and frequently conduct outreach visits to law enforcement agencies within your assigned region.
Present on various topics during roll calls, training days, at conferences, etc.
Establish and maintain relationships with key organizations and stakeholders, including high-ranking officials.
Seek opportunities to sponsor and attend law enforcement events.
Coordinate and support special Credit Union events.
Maintain expertise in our products and services.
Make outbound calls to follow up on member inquiries or to assist members as needed.
Be okay with working flexible and inconsistent hours that may include early mornings, nights, and weekends because we cater to the needs of our members’ shifts and events.
*** REQUIRES TRAVEL WITHIN CITY OF ORANGE AND SURROUNDING AREAS, SUCH AS IRVINE, LAGUNA, ETC. MAY WORK HYBRID FROM HOME AND WITHIN THE TRAVEL AREA AS NEEDED ***
Experience
3 to 5 years of similar or related experience required in a financial institution in sales or business development role required.
Proven ability to give oral presentations and advanced knowledge of financial products and services.
Education
College degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.
Interpersonal Skills
Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
Other Skills
Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
Must be knowledgeable in rules and regulations governing IRA and savings accounts. Must also have working knowledge of regulations and laws governing lending such as:

If driving for company business, must have a valid California driver’s license and proof of current insurance coverage.

Reliable, predictable, on-time attendance is essential, particularly to assure duties are fulfilled. The associate will spend most of the working time sitting, standing or walking, including significant time using computers. Position requires repetitive hand movements, the daily ability to focus on several tasks at one time, analyze data and draw conclusions, quickly and accurately perform mathematical computations, analyze and explain complex information, communicate frequently with others in person, over the phone, via electronic communications, and in group presentations. The associate must be able to travel regularly among the branches supervised. The position may include occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
