Position Overview:

The LGBT Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team and assist the CFO. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, supporting financial reporting and analysis, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and board of directors.

- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

1. General Accounting:

- Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance and

Bank statement reconciliation, credit card statements, and other financial accounts.

- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records and transactions.

1. Budgeting and Forecasting:

- Assist in the development and monitoring of annual operating budgets and long-term financial forecasts.

- Work closely with program managers and department heads to develop budget projections and track budget variances.

- Provide financial analysis and support during the budgeting process.

1. Compliance and Internal Controls:

- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, nonprofit regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.

- Participate in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.

- Assist in the coordination of annual audits and tax filings, including preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.

1. Grant Management:

- Assist in the administration of grants, including budget development, financial reporting, and compliance monitoring.

- Work closely with program staff to ensure grant funds are utilized in accordance with grant agreements and donor restrictions.

- Prepare grant invoices and financial reports for submission to funders.

1. Team Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other members of the finance team to accomplish departmental goals and objectives.

- Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, as needed.

- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and special projects as assigned by the CFO.
