ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
LoneStar Fasteners is looking for the right, qualified individuals to join our team!! We have 1 immediate Manual Machinist position (full-time) open within the Production area for our 1st shift at our facility in Spring, TX! This position is responsible to help insure the safety and productivity of all employees assigned to the CNC department. Additionally, the CNC Lead position is accountable for filling in when the CNC supervisor or Programmer is not available.

Manufacturing employees must comply with company Safety and Security policies including use of Personal Protective Equipment
Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
Coordinates with Supervisor to ensure jobs are lined up, setup and running efficiently.
Reads blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be run, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
Sets up and operate Manual Lathes, mills, presses and grinders.
observes operation and inspects first run and sample work pieces for all other employees to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
Helps other machinist perform and trouble shoot setups and insure they are running efficiently
Processes First Article Inspections and verifies conformance to quality standards prior to production runs
Accurately completes work order paperwork/documentation
Ensure that work areas are always maintained in a neat and orderly manner.
Ensures tooling requirements and needs are reported to supervisor for procurement
Assist in training new hire personnel in setup procedures, measurement equipment, production expectations and specifications.
Assist Production Supervisors in daily activities.
Lead shift with minimal to no supervision required
Recognize and identify problem areas and assist with developing solutions
Issue and release work orders
Assist Production Supervisors in daily activities while setting the example for all other employees.
Leads and directs all aspects of the Manual Machine department when supervisor is unavailable
Perform other and/or related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
EXPERIENCE
5 to 7 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment; 2 years lead experience preferred; 5 to 7 years’ experience in setup and operating Manual machine equipment such as Manual lathes, Bridgeport Mills EDM, grinders and presses. Ability to Reads and understand blueprint or job order for product and job specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be run, tooling instructions or other written specifications.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or Bachelor Degree preferred
Ability to pass a basic reading, math, measurement, parts matching and counting test
Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications
Ability to adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance
Must be able to work a shift schedule and overtime as needed, including weekends
WORK SCHEDULE
1st shift general work schedule 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift
Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms up to weighing 25-150 lbs
Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus
Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing environment with multi step process production runs on different machines. High value highly customized components, long and large parts, and high precision manufacturing for critical service applications
