Logistics Management Institute is Hiring a Program/Portfolio Manager (LMI PM) Near Tysons, VA

Overview

LMI is seeking a Program/Portfolio Manager to support efforts for a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. The ideal candidate has over 10 years of experience and holds a PMP. Candidate will have experience managing complex efforts that include strategy, policy, information technology, workforce managment, and/or data analytics. Candidate should have experience with managing complex contract/programs that includes building and developing client relationships, managing contract deliverables, subcontractors, dispersed teams, and delivering quality products. This position requires the ability to pass a government background investigation to obtain DHS Suitability. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing relationships with government program, technical and contract leads.
  • Management of complex projects ensuring that goals, requirements, and outcomes are defined and that the appropriate resources are allocated
  • Monitor team performance to ensure that projects are implemented, supported, and closed accurately and in accordance with key milestones and established project standards are upheld and clearly defined throughout the entire process of each project’s development and execution
  • Foster positive working relationships with team, client personnel and leadership counterparts
  • Prioritize tasks, set deadlines and assign resources to each project
  • Track cost, schedule and performance, as well as prepare documents and develop project specific policy, procedures and report status to all levels
  • Manage staffing requirements, including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and execution
  • Manage task assignments and oversight of personnel to ensure excellence in services delivery
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and ensure such deliverables are submitted in a timely fashion and of high quality/accuracy. When appropriate, propose a plan to correct any cost variances or projected rate adjustments
  • Prepare briefing charts, schedule meetings, keep records and record minutes, prepare after-action reports in support of technical reviews
  • Ensure program compliance with government and corporate policies and mandates, and adherence to directives from governing entities
  • Anticipate and resolves procurement challenges and problems, such as small business set aside goals, certification requirements, and acquisition strategy
  • Work with LMI and LMI business partners to pursue new business opportunities
  • Support business development and bid and proposal efforts for opportunities, bringing together capabilities across LMI to define a solution that meets and exceeds client expectations.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree and PMP Certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in program management across public and private sector and delivering solutions to the federal government.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex contracts with multiple divisions and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and complex program implementation.
  • Experience delivering strategic planning and execution, data analytics, and project management capabilities in a complex and dynamic program environment.
  • Ability to pass a DHS background investigation.

Desired Skills

  • Master’s degree or higher.
  • Experince supporting program offices focused on the DHS mission, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Management Services
  • Prior experience running projects of similar size and scope
  • PMP Certification or other equivalent certifications
  • Active CBP Background Investigation (BI)
