The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the General Ledger and ensuring a smooth monthly close process as well as preparing the month-end financial reports. They assist the Senior Finance Manager in preparing annual budget, cost report, and other special projects as needed.

Requirements

Essential Functions

  • Process weekly deposits and allocate amounts to proper revenue categories.
  • Process monthly autopay transactions to ensure proper accounting in the General Ledger.
  • Review all fixed assets transactions for proper documentation and maintain the required schedules.
  • Review and reconcile asset and liability accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for all LOGAN accounts, aside from the collective client account.
  • Finalize the month end close process within required timeframe.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of monthly financial reports to the Senior Finance Manager and other management staff. (financial statements, cost center reports, key indicators, variance analysis, etc.).
  • Answer questions from other staff throughout the organization about specific transactions.
  • Support/provide guidance as needed to the Accounts Payable Specialist (cut checks, contact vendors, follow up on outstanding invoices, Concur administration)
  • Assist in the budgeting and financial planning process.
  • Assist in the preparation of required information for all financial related audits.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports for Medicaid Cost Reports.
  • Other projects and duties as requested by Director of Finance, CFO, or CEO.

General Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the health and safety of persons served.
  • Expected to serve as a role model for persons served.
  • Expected to serve as an advocate and to protect the human rights of persons served.
  • Expected to participate in training as required by your supervisor or for all LOGAN staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years related experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Above average Excel or equivalent spreadsheet skills required.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and tactfully with levels of staff.
  • Ability to work in a methodical, detailed and organized manner under stress of deadlines.
  • Must represent LOGAN in a professional manner.
  • Must maintain complete confidentiality of client information and display a high level of personal integrity.
