We are looking for a leader for the Ground Element overseeing the site Delivery, Installation, Test and Hardware teams! The ideal candidate will have LM L-code and large-scale program experience and thrive in a high-tempo, 24x7 operationally focused environment. The ability to plan for and commit to customer expectations and program milestones, while maintaining flexibility is essential. The successful candidate will have a desktop of approx. 18 people
In this position you will:
• Lead a team that develops, builds, maintains, integrates and delivers software, COTS/GOTS and hardware products as an integral component of a larger, complex system and across multiple sites and contracts.
• Provide day to day tasking and be responsible for ensuring staff members follow contract standards and processes to close on program priorities.
• Assist with defining the future architecture roadmap for building, integrating, testing and deploying future capabilities and movement into a DevSecOps development/delivery paradigm.
• Be responsible for setting up system level testing and integration of products to help buy down future program risks.
• Be responsible for coordinating employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions.
• Interact, plan, and coordinate with program management on personnel and staffing matters
• Coordinate with executive program management and customers on technical issues across multi-discipline engineering/maintenance teams.
• Oversee execution of the promotion checklist during baseline and patch promotions to operations
• Oversee lessons learned and best practices process
• Assess baseline release schedules and resource impacts against baselines containing software and hardware to manage timelines and interdependencies using historical data as a starting footprint that are tuned with process improvements
• Measure progress and anticipate resource dependencies/bottlenecks with detailed reports that show where any slack exists or where schedules do not close
• Enable team members to manage tasks, collaborate, and/or flag issues and risks to proposed schedules and with concurrence, make the necessary adjustments to the schedules
Basic Qualifications:
- Project lead experience with complex software baselines
- Experience managing engineers in a collaborative manner
- Working knowledge of software life cycle
- Ability to support and/or lead forums with the purpose of developing/solving program schedules/challenges
- Ability to present clearly and concisely on a weekly basis to upper management and customers
contributing to the final product- Experience in Linux/Unix environment
