Local Start Dental is Hiring a Dental Assistant I/II (Spanish speaking preferred) Near Durham, NC

We are currently searching for an experienced DA1 or DA2 to join our non-profit prosthodontist office! The candidate for this part-time position will be responsible for assisting our doctors with a variety of dental restorations including: extractions, implant placement, impressions, denture/partial try ins, and more. Prior dental experience is required, and strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of dental procedures is preferred. Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist our prosthodontists and general dentist.
  • Clean, sanitize, and set up rooms for patients in line with OSHA best practices.
  • Handle and sterilize instruments and materials for all procedures.
  • Prepare patient for restorative procedures
  • Evaluate patients' conditions and explain treatment to be performed or prescribed.
  • Review treatment plan options with patients
  • Enter patient treatment plans and complete clinical note documentation and prescriptions into Dentrix Enterprise system.
  • Take x-rays
  • Monitor supply and inventory levels, report needed supplies for ordering.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and all state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with front office staff to assist in other administrative duties as needed.
  • Report to the Lead Dental Assistant and keep them up to date on progress

Pay: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
