Responsibilities:

Department Specific

  • Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, servers, and networking equipment. This includes hardware, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Play a crucial role in ensuring the security of the organization's IT environment. This involves implementing and maintaining security measures, such as firewalls, endpoint protection software, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Create and manage user accounts and access permissions for employees, ensuring that they have appropriate access to resources while maintaining security.
  • Responsible for the organization's network infrastructure (LAN and WAN), including routers, switches, and firewalls. This involves configuring and maintaining network connectivity and addressing issues as they arise.
  • Establish and manage data backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability in case of hardware failures or other disasters.
  • Keep software and operating systems up to date with the latest patches and updates to protect against security vulnerabilities and improve performance.
  • Continuously monitor system performance, adjusting and optimizing performance and resource utilization. This includes identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to aid in problem-solving and ensure consistency.
  • Address the organization's IT needs and planning for future growth and expansion by adding or upgrading hardware and software resources.
  • Work closely with database administrators and support staff to coordinate and resolve complex issues.
  • Participate in or lead IT related projects such as migrations, upgrades, new installations, and consulting with business stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with industry certifications and be committed to professional growth and development. Stay updated with emerging technologies and IT trends that can benefit the organization’s growth and facilitate personal growth within the IT department.
  • Regularly communicate corresponding system and network level changes throughout IT that may affect other parts of the department or end users directly.

Position requirements:

Formal Education & Certification

  • Required: University degree in the field of Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Preferred: Certifications such as Security , Network , Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure/Windows Server, and Cisco

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum two years prior experience in a Systems Administrator capacity or similar.
  • Windows 10 / Windows 11 / Server 2012 / Server 2019 / Server 2022.
  • Ability to manage Oracle Enterprise Linux server operating systems supporting the Oracle E-Business Suite.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Office 365 Suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to manage a Cisco Meraki Network, including switches, routers, WAPs, and security appliances.
  • Experience managing iSCSI and Fiber Channel SANs.
  • Ability to manage Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, and MDS network switches.
  • Ability to install, upgrade, manage, and support a hybrid Active Directory environment including the use of Group Policy Objects to manage system security policies.
  • General knowledge and experience with Cloud VOIP phone systems.
  • Experience installing, configuring, deploying, and maintaining both physical and virtual servers using VMware Enterprise software (vCenter, vSphere, and ESXi).
  • Experience with installing cabling to servers, network devices, and telecommunications equipment in a data center environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage systems and mobile devices with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft SCCM.
  • Experience with implementation of STIGs and applying security baselines to servers, workstations, and network devices.
  • Ability to perform vulnerability scans of IT assets and perform remediation activities on discovered vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and its integration with various applications.
  • Ability to design and manage native virtual machines in Microsoft Azure.

  • On-call availability for 5 days per month.

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
