LINDENWOOD CHRISTIAN CHURCH is Hiring a Custodian / Floor Care / Facility Maintenance Associate (FT) Near Memphis, TN

Job Summary:

The individual in this role is a self-motivated team player who will maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the facility and grounds with daily cleaning of everyday use, events, or programs in a professional and timely manner.
Set up and take down areas as directed based on events and to serve as building attendants in assisting guests, members, and staff.

Qualifications:

Ability to work late and on weekends when needed.
The job offers competitive hourly rates and benefits.
Experience in the janitorial/custodial/facility maintenance industry with floor care experience is required.

Primary Responsibilities are:

Communication.
Vacuuming.
Sweep and Mop floors.
Steam-clean carpets.
Bonneting.
Extraction (wet/dry).
Carpet spot removal.
Transport equipment, tools, and supplies.
Move heavy equipment and furniture before/after cleaning.
Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
Mix various cleaning agents.
Apply wax to coat floors and buff.
Apply sealant to floors.
Empty trash and clean surfaces.
Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors, and baseboards using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dust furniture and scrub surfaces clean.
Clean and service restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
Set up and breakdown of space for church/child care/facility needs.
Identify and report possible repairs.
Fill in for other custodians during vacations, sickness, or other job absences.
Monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours.
To assist in monitoring the building/grounds while performing duties.
Adjust and minor repairs, bolts, and screws, adjusting door handles, etc.
Ability to follow the facility manager’s instructions regarding facility maintenance needs, i.e. filters.
Other duties as assigned.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to prioritize tasks and to request assistance when appropriate.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Ability to be a team player without instructions.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
At least two years related experience (Required).
Experience in the janitorial/custodial industry (Required).
Experience in facility maintenance (Preferred but not Required).

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, squatting, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs at times.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
