The Kitchen Supervisor oversees all aspects of the meal service program for Lindenwood Child Care.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Responsible for planning, in a timely manner, breakfast, snack, and lunch menus, in
accordance with the nutritional guidelines of the center.
· Purchase food and supplies and keep an accurate inventory.
· Prepare and distribute food, as needed.
· Communicate daily, and as needed, with child care administration staff to ensure the children’s needs are met.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Handle the kitchen operation.
· Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, and schedules kitchen staff.
· Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
· Keeping of accurate records for accounting and reimbursement purposes.

Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum 2 years of managing a kitchen and menu preparation.
· Minimum 2 years supervising staff.
· Food service/sanitization license preferred.
· Must be familiar with USDA serving and nutrition guidelines.
· Minimum 2 years child care center food preparation.
Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods of standing.
· Moderate lifting.
· Must be able to pass fingerprint and background checks.
