Newport Hospital, a teaching hospital of The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and affiliated partner of the Lifespan Physician Group, has an exciting opportunity for a board-certified physiatrist to serve as medical director at our 28-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility in Newport, Rhode Island. Our growing academically oriented PM&R departmentis a four-time Guardian of Excellence Award Winner.About the job:
Serve as the medical supervisor of inpatient rehabilitation services
Time is split roughly 40% administrative, 60% clinical
Provide direct patient care
Partner with the Chief of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Vice President of Lifespan Rehabilitation Services to set goals and priorities for program development
Work primarily with Stroke, amputee, TBI, Spinal Cord, Multiple Trauma, Orthopedic patients
The team consists of nine others including MDs, physical, occupational and speech & language therapists
Average length of stay in the unit is 14 days
Call is 1:8 week
