Lifespan Physician Group is Hiring a CLINICAL/COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST FOR ACCEPTANCE AND MINDFULNESS-BASED PARTIAL HOSPITAL PROGRAM Near Providence, RI
Who Are We?The Acceptance and Mindfulness-Based Partial Hospitalization Program at Rhode Island Hospital serves adults aged 18 years and older who present with a range of psychological problems, including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders, and personality disorders. The program is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and is also influenced by other evidenced-based treatments including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Prolonged Exposure. Patients attend 3 groups per day, providing them with skills in values and goals clarification, greater acceptance towards difficult feelings and thoughts while engaging in meaningful behaviors, improving interpersonal relationships, and increasing mindfulness and other coping behaviors. Three specialty treatment tracks are available, tailoring ACT for (1) trauma/PTSD, (2) young adult issues, and 3) borderline personality disorder/emotion regulation difficulties. Our multidisciplinary team collaborates on patient care to provide well-rounded and evidence-based treatment. Providers provide both individual and group therapy to patients within the program, averaging about a 4-patient caseload and 1 group per day. Who Are We Looking For?
PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program required
Clinical internship from an APA-accredited program required
Licensed or license-eligible in Rhode Island
Experience or interest in Acceptance and Mindfulness-based therapies and/or other third-wave behavioral therapies
Experience with DBT/DBT-PE, personality disorders and trauma/PTSD a plus
Desire to work in a team-based care model
Interest in working in a hospital setting
Passionate about helping people struggling with mental illness
Good sense of humor and desire to be part of a supportive environment
