Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
The Mental Health Therapist provides behavioral health treatment including assessment and diagnostic services, treatment planning, individual, group and family therapy to patients seeking services for mental health symptoms. In this capacity, the Mental Health Therapist provides therapeutic interventions to address clinical, social, and behavioral issues, as well as crisis intervention for patients during scheduled PHP visits and acute episodes.
The Mental Health Therapist serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team to provide effective mental health treatment in a hospital-based partial hospitalization program. This level of care serves as both an important transition back to the community following an inpatient psychiatric hospitalization and as a modality that can be used in place of, or to prevent, inpatient hospitalizations and emergency room visits. In collaboration with the patient’s psychiatrist, nurses, supervisors and supportive others, the Mental Health Therapist develops and implements an individualized treatment plan and course of services for each patient.
