Job Summary:The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely
submission of claims, monitoring claim status, researching rejections and collections of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance payers, and skilled nursing facilities. They will all be responsible for weekly and monthly analytical reporting for which will be reviewed by management.,
Essential Job Responsibilities/Functions:
·Contact facilities with overdue accounts and attempt to either collect the overdue amount or negotiate a payment plan to collect it in installments.
·Keep accurate records and report on collection activity.
·Process payments, refunds, and appeals.
·Coordinate and clarify with providers on information that is incomplete to ensure proper claim adjudication.
·Responsible for correcting, completing, and processing claims for all payer codes.
·Perform follow up with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance companies on unpaid insurance accounts.
·Run data and create dashboards and reports of Accounts Receivable.
Minimum Requirements
·Minimum of two years related experience.
·Certified Biller and Coder strongly preferred.
·Understanding of medical terminology and insurance laws/guidelines.
Required Abilities and Skills
·Understanding of Medicare and Medicaid eligibility requirements and commercial insurance payer payment methods, payer contracts, & government regulations.
·Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing systems, with a strong proficiency in Excel.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to communicate successfully via phone and email.
·Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
·Critical thinking and analysis.
