LHH is Hiring a People and Culture Manager Near Elizabeth, NJ

Job Title: People and Culture Manager

Location: Elizabeth, NJ

Type of Employment: Temporary to Permanent

In Office/Hybrid/Remote: Hybrid

Hourly Rate: $43/hr

Job Summary:

LHH is working with a non profit organization in Elizabeth, NJ that is looking to hire a People and Culture Manager on a temporary to permanent basis. The hours are Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5:00PM with an hour lunch (35 hour work week). This role will be hybrid with 3 days in office.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead talent acquisition initiatives
  • Onboard new hires and administer benefits plans
  • Organize trainings, coach leaders and employees, and encourage a positive work environment
  • Supervise 2 direct reports
  • Provide the HR team with travel documents, visas, and arrangements
  • Coordinate department events, logistics, catering and budgets
  • Onboarding new hires into the HRIS
  • Complete background checks and reference checks
  • Work closely on people and culture policies and ensuring they are communicated to all employees across the company
  • Maintain employee files
  • Work with employees regarding performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement
  • Act as a back up to payroll

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in HR is preferred
  • SHRM CP or SPHR is preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years related experience
  • Experience using ADP Workforce strongly preferred
  • Hands on payroll experience
  • Strong knowledge of Federal land NJ State labor laws
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills in order to manage employee relations issues
