Maintenance Support Specialist

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Typical Base Rate $28.00 - $33.00 (Depending on Experience)

Potential Signing Bonus of up to $1,000.00

What You'll Be Doing:

In this role you'll oversee equipment spare parts purchasing, inventory associated with maintenance repairs and PM (Preventative Maintenance) scheduling. You'll have an opportunity to interface regularly with all departments to coordinate inventory activities including ordering, maintaining, shipping, receiving, and tracking. You'll also assist maintenance and production leadership in coordinating preventative maintenance activities. Some of your key tasks will include:

  • Regularly interact and builds relationships with critical suppliers.
  • Work with suppliers, planning and maintenance leaders to get urgent production equipment repair parts onsite and communicate lead-times.
  • Work with production and planning teams to schedule production equipment repairs and PMs.
  • Work in partnership with critical suppliers & maintenance leadership to stock repair parts in L&S Inventory and in US support facilities.
  • Monitor supply of stock maintenance parts and place purchase orders to meet requirements.Including defining and managing supplier consignment inventory and critical spares.
  • Work closely with MRO Team to monitor inventory levels, order parts, track parts locations and monitor part movement. Coordinate cross-functionality on all spare parts transactions.
  • Leverage CribMaster and other software systems to improve inventory management and accuracy.
  • Assign locations to new inventory parts. Organize and maintain parts locations using Cribmaster software.
  • Receive, unpack, and examine incoming parts to verify quantities and condition of spare parts and ensure appropriate documentation. Package and prepare spare parts returns for shipping.
  • Validate inventory, problem solves discrepancies and process transactions to correct inventory. Document and communicate spare part shortages and/or other errors to supervisor.
  • Work closely with Accounts Payable team to investigate and correct invoice discrepancies.
  • Evaluate supply chain opportunities to reduce spare parts cost and lead-times.
  • Coordinate implementation of new parts and removal of obsolete parts.
  • Sets up, update, and maintain systems for receiving and tracking incoming parts. Train and support maintenance technicians on use of system, acting as subject matter expert.
  • Create and run various reports related to spare parts inventory and maintenance.
  • Process work orders and data using Jira, Excel, and CribMaster.
  • Understand and implement best practices and audit work. Partner with Buyers to identify and implement process improvements.

Skills & Experience You'll Need:

  • High school diploma and 5 years related experience with material handling activities.Minimum of one year purchasing related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to problem solve, complete complex tasks, and understand and help implement changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, demonstrate initiative, and meet quality standards.
  • Ability to flex work schedule in order to interact with overseas suppliers and swing shift staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively use and apply company approved software, office, and warehouse equipment to complete job-related tasks.
  • High level of initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

{C}*{C}Knowledge of ERP and online procurement preferred. Experience in Oracle preferred.

  • Basic math skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word.

Work Environment:

Work takes place in a manufacturing environment with occasional outdoor work and with exposure to noise and chemicals. Ability to use PPE. Ability to stand or sit for long periods; Good visual acuity, and ability to use full range of motion. Ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds with assistance. Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Ability to climb and work at high elevations.
