Lepley Recruiting Services is Hiring a Remote Territory Sales Manager

You will be calling on customers in the New York market utilizing a company vehicle and working from a home office.

About Us:

Lepley Recruiting Services is working with a leading provider of subfloor products. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Regional Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. This person will play a crucial role in driving sales and maintaining strong relationships within the defined territory.

Job Description:

As a Regional Sales Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting distributor partners in maintaining the right product mix for the territory.
  • Ensuring sales volume is maintained by staying updated on supply and demand, changing market trends, and competitors.
  • Providing education to distribution sales and service departments.
  • Developing and growing sales of products through buying groups such as StarNet, Fuse and other networks.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in working with architects, floor dealers, general contractors, and end-users.
  • Implementing company marketing and branding strategies throughout the territory and the US.
  • Developing and managing the geographically defined sales region by making regular visits to existing and prospective customers (territory travel as outlined by RVP of Sales).
  • Creating and implementing field action plans, including seeking input from within the territory and gaining competitive awareness.
  • Conducting product demonstrations to showcase the benefits and features of the company’s products.
  • Utilizing the company-provided lead generation system for searches, lead management, and report generation.
  • Reporting on territory business and market trends regularly, including business reviews, forecasting, and development through the company-provided CRM.
  • Providing field service and support.
  • Making technical recommendations and offering technical resources as needed.
  • Following up and calling on all leads generated from trade shows or other exhibits.
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and participation in professional societies.
  • Contributing to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of company products and competitive awareness.
  • Understanding of substrate preparation and flooring installation.
  • Ability to meet sales goals, negotiate, sell to customer needs, and build strong relationships.
  • Self-motivated with a passion for sales and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing market.
  • Sound business decision-making skills related to sales planning and management.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Sales, or related field preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a remote sales position, preferably in the building materials industry.
  • A valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record are required. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry sample products from the vehicle to customer showrooms/offices.
  • Occasional lifting of 55-pound bags of product and extended periods of standing may be required.

Work Location/Environmental Condition:

  • This position is remote, based out of a home office.
  • The job may involve exposure to both indoor and outdoor adverse environmental conditions and various hazardous physical conditions.
  • The Regional Sales Manager is required to reside within the outlined territory. Occasional overnight travel for tradeshows, focus runs, and training based on the schedule and relevance to the territory.
