Description

The Commercial Sales Manager is a key role within the Outside Sales team, responsible for leading and managing the commercial sales efforts of the organization. This position plays a critical role in driving revenue growth, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and achieving sales targets in the commercial market segment.

Established in the Blue Ridge foothills of North Carolina in 1963, Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories is a manufacturer and distributor whose product lines include storage buildings, cargo and utility trailers, truck covers, truck and van accessories, carports, playhouses, chicken coops, and dog houses. We serve our residential, commercial, fleet, and government customers through our 150 retail store locations in eighteen states, supported by our corporate offices (in Mount Airy, NC, and Cobden, IL), distribution centers, and strategically located manufacturing facilities. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to target commercial customers, aligning with overall sales and business objectives. 
  • Sales Team Management: Lead and oversee the outside sales team focused on commercial sales, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve sales goals. 
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with commercial clients, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions. 
  • New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial market segment to expand the customer base. 
  • Sales Performance Analysis: Analyze sales data, track sales metrics, and assess team performance to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Pricing and Negotiations: Work with the sales team to develop competitive pricing strategies and negotiate contracts with commercial clients. 
  • Sales Forecasting: Prepare sales forecasts and reports, outlining progress and achievements against sales targets for management. 
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify market trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning. 
  • Collaborative Approach: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and customer service, to align sales efforts and support customer needs. 
  • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and addressing customer inquiries and concerns promptly. 
  • Budget Management: Manage the sales budget for commercial sales activities, optimizing resource allocation. 
  • Industry Events: Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to promote products and services to potential commercial clients.

Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus. 
  • Proven experience in outside sales, particularly in commercial sales or B2B sales management. 
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in the commercial market segment. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to motivate and lead the outside sales team effectively. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships with commercial clients. 
  • Analytical skills to assess sales data, track performance metrics, and make informed decisions. 
  • Negotiation and persuasion abilities to close deals with commercial customers. 
  • Knowledge of the commercial market, industry trends, and customer needs. 
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies and plans. 
  • Customer-focused approach and dedication to delivering exceptional service. 
  • Adaptability to changing market conditions and sales environments. 
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales reporting tools. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. 
  • Ability to type on a keyboard. 
  • Ability to hear and talk. 
  • Ability to move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. 
  • Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and printer. 
  • Requires close vision for computer work and reviewing correspondence. 
  • Work is performed in a controlled office, noise levels within acceptable safety levels, paper dust, etc. 

Travel:

  • This position requires approximately (75%) travel within the local area.
