WHAT YOULL BE DOING

The Lead Product Manager, IAQ owns the full lifecycle management for the Residential IAQ portfolio that includes air filters, purifiers, humidifiers/de-humidifier, ventilation control and germicidal lights. The role will involve driving the strategic planning, ideation and road mapping and also leading the New Product Initiatives (NPI) process within the portfolio. The Product Manager will be responsible for key platform decisions and will develop the multi-generational product and technical roadmaps. The Product Manager should be capable in developing business cases aligned to the voice of the customer, business and engineering capabilities and long-term strategic platform vision. In this role, you will work closely with the Business leaders and Stakeholders, Finance, Engineering teams, Sourcing and Supply chain teams to execute critical and strategic objectives for the residential IAQ product line by bringing new and maturing existing capabilities for our dealers and homeowners and establish a leading product line.

The Product Manager is comfortable dealing with third party suppliers and dealing with multiple-cross functional teams. They are resourceful in driving teams from ideation to production and managing and will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level. While their vision and insights are long-term they have the sense of urgency to advocate for the customer within the internal development teams. They are comfortable presenting to executives and individual contributors and are master communicators.

This role will report to the Director of Product Management and will be based at Richardson, Texas.

Key Activities

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for defining, developing and launching state of the art products that deliver exceptional value to customers. They will work directly with engineering, sourcing, supply chain, finance and sales to ensure that the product delivers on feature, cost, price and volume targets.

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Lead the Annual Strategic Session (ASA) in the Product Category
    • Develop Multi-Generation Product Plan (MGPP) and Multi-Generation Technology Plan (MGTP)
    • Sell portfolio vision and product road map internally
  • Customer Advocacy and market considerations
    • Incorporate market and customer feedback into product development.
    • Understand dealer and consumer segmentation and develop value proposition and go to market strategy
    • Drive the Voice of the Customer activities and the Discovery phase of the projects.
    • Scan and take into consideration regulation, building code changes and utility rebate trends
    • Benchmark and develop competitive positioning in the market
  • Product Requirements
    • Develop business cases and requirements for new/existing products and work with engineering on functional specifications and feature prioritization.
    • Effectively communicate and act as bridge between business, technology, and the customer
  • Product development and Lifecycle Owner
    • Lead product development check point meetings through ideation, validation, and production readiness.
    • Work collaboratively with operations, legal, regulatory, customer support and engineering to identify and resolve risks to our product development plan.
    • Balance tradeoffs to optimize time-to-release, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints
    • Manage the phase in and phase out process
    • Work regularly with third party suppliers
    • Address inventory issues in the category
  • Product Knowledge
    • Be the champion for products both internally and externally
    • Grow knowledge of our product portfolio within the business and infuse that into our product development.
    • Present to customers at trade shows and internal customer events
    • Work with Product Marketing Manager to develop tools to empower the sales teams and customers.
  • Product Cross functional Leader
    • Be comfortable managing cross functional teams and resolving issues and driving execution
    • Build strong relationship with all the functions/team members involved in the product life cycle
    • Be the primary resource on product direction for the following functions: Engineering, Quality, Sourcing and Supply Chain

The Compensation range for this position is approximately $106,400 - $139,650 and will be based on the candidates qualification, experience, and education.

Qualifications:

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, MBA preferred.
  • At least 5 to 8 years related experience in marketing, product management; strategic consulting or related field.
  • Experience in working in the technology sector both is a plus
  • Requires strong cross-functional leadership abilities.
  • Communicates Effectively: Excellent written and verbal communication skills required in tactfully communicating with the business, leading/facilitating meetings, presenting to groups, and writing detailed reports.
  • Planning and alignment: Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize work to meet commitments that are aligned with organizational goals.
