Description
Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support United States Space Force (USSF) by developing software in support of Space Systems Command (SSC) Cyber Operations Branch rapid agile development of defensive cyber solutions to protect, defend, and respond to both ground and space based cyber adversarial threats. A successful candidate should be a leader and problem solver with a proven ability to deliver superior results as part of a high performing team in a fast-paced environment.
There is not a remote option for this role.
Primary Responsibilities
Read technical documentation and white papers in support of the requirements gathering process.
Collaborate with both inter-agency and external partners to develop solutions to fulfill customer needs.
Participate in the entire spectrum of activities that are conducted for a given system which include the identification of need, system design/development, production, operational use, sustainment/support, and system retirement.
Help lead the various reviews that analyze the accuracy/adequacy of test results and audits, assess risk, and determine if the system has sufficient technical maturity to achieve shipment authorization.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, software engineering, data science, software development or STEM related specialty.
At least 3 years of prior relevant experience.
US Citizenship is required with a Secret security clearance.
Experience or knowledge in the following areas:
Agile methodologies, agile project management, software development life cycle management, program/project management, cross-functional team, agile software testing, test-driven development, software test planning, software test automation
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in Space Systems Command
Experience with Cyber Operations Branch (SSC/SZYO) program office
Advisory and Assistance Service (A&AS), or System Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) to Government program office
Experience with ACAT I/II level acquisition program
