BASIC FUNCTIONS: Communicate the quality requirements to all production members through the use of procedures, work instructions, and other quality methods. Verify all company quality standards with regards to auditing of product, processes, and quality systems.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Perform special projects as assigned by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Work closely with all management and production personnel.
  • Have a clear understanding of all processes.
  • Understand, follow, and assist with training of Quality Inspection Plans, Work Instructions, and Procedures.
  • Perform first piece audits and BOM audits.
  • Ensure any non-conforming product is controlled until the condition is corrected.
  • Perform receiving inspections according to Quality Inspection Plans.
  • Conform to all safety, quality requirements, and procedures.
  • Participate in the Continuous Process Improvement (CPI).
  • Perform machine and process capability studies as assigned by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Evaluate measurement systems and gather and analyze data.
  • Enter data from first piece audits and BOM audits into spreadsheets for analysis.
  • Help when needed to enter data from RMA audits and return material inspections into spreadsheets for analysis.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace (rejection area.)
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity related to product, process, and the quality system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and the quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Control further processing, delivery, or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have basic Math, English (verbal & written) and some computer skills.
  • Must be able to work well with others.
  • Must have a good understanding of the following skills, or be pursuing them through training:

o Safety procedures.

o Methods to improvement.

o Continuous quality improvement process.

  • Ability to work any shift as directed by Quality Supervisor.
  • Ability to accurately read tape measure, micrometer, caliper, precision scale, and other instruments related to the job.
  • Ability to read part specification prints.
  • Ability to train other people about our products, policies, and procedures.
  • Auditing skills for systems, products, and processes.
  • Good communication skills.
