Job Summary: The Project Engineering Manager is responsible for the ownership of their respective areas to ensure that pouring operations and projects achieve their goals and our customers’ expectations are surpassed for quality and delivery. The Project Engineering Manager will develop and evaluate new processes and improve current process capability, efficiency and over productivity in all areas of foam pouring maintenance.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the development of new products, designs, processes or offerings.
  • Develops innovative solutions to complex foam manufacturing problems through identification and implementation of advance manufacturing and maintenance processes including conducting process analysis, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials and soliciting observations from the pouring production and leadership teams.
  • Refines and enhances processes by applying continuous improvement and preventative maintenance measures.
  • Improves pourline efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment lay out. Coordinates input that may cross multiple teams or areas; makes recommendations and implements changes.
  • Manages the overall lifecycle of assigned process.
  • Manages team of skilled maintenance technicians in project work within the scope of industrial and electrical maintenance acumen.
  • Evaluates capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications.
  • Oversees the design and preparation of concept drawing of new equipment or modifications to existing equipment.
  • Oversees the development of tooling and fixtures for new products and processes and works with tooling vendors to supply such designs.
  • Identifies and implements solutions for issues relating to safety, quality, productivity, and cost reductions.
  • Prepares reports summarizing analyzed process information and trends.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or manufacturing preferred


Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired (3-5 years of related experience)


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Practical knowledge of manufacturing and production engineering principles, concepts and general business operations.
  • Ability to create detailed work instructions from engineering blueprints
  • Familiarity in creating standard work documents
  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision
  • Good communications, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Must have ability to work with people at a cross-functional level both oral and written form
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
  • Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
