Legally Aligned Staffing Solutions is Hiring an Assistant State Attorney Near Orlando, FL

The State of Florida is currently seeking a results-driven Assistant State Attorney to strengthen the criminal prosecution system. You will be assessing police reports, coordinating a team of associates, and presenting pre-trial motions and cases in court.

To ensure success as an Assistant State Attorney, you should demonstrate extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system and experience in presenting cases in court. An accomplished Assistant State Attorney will be someone whose expertise results in an increase in successful prosecutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently assist the State Attorney in presenting criminal cases in court.
  • Administer cases for felony, misdemeanor, juvenile, and other types of prosecutions.
  • Prepare indictments, informations and petitions.
  • Prepare cases for prosecution including discovery and depositions.
  • Develop trial strategy, conduct plea negotiations, and perform research.
  • Interact with victims, police, and witnesses to make critical decisions.
  • Attend all court hearings.
  • Prepare legal documents and reports for court proceedings.
  • Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges and court personnel, and conduct trials in court.
  • Attend and present evidence to grand juries.
  • Manage communication with stakeholders.
  • Train staff on legal issues and goals.
  • Organize and conduct workshops and seminars for stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative assistance to State Attorney as required.
  • Supervise attorneys and staff as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Law degree from accredited law school
  • Admittance to Florida bar and continued membership in good standing
