Safety Manager Position

Job Description: The Safety Manager is responsible for developing and executing health and
Safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines. The primary job of the Safety
Manager is overall leadership of company safety and preparing and enforcing policies to establish a culture of health and Safety throughout Legacy Mechanical, Inc.

Safety Manager Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
• Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
• Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises or at project site locations.
• Provides project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirms project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
• Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for project site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management. Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
• Implement management, leadership and employee involvement in regard to safety.
• Implement procedures for identifying and controlling workplace hazards.
• Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
• Provides technical support to project managers and foremen.
• Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.
• Implement procedures for identifying and controlling workplace hazards.
• Develop and communicate Safety plans, rules and work procedures.
• Conduct or provide training for all employees in safe and healthy work practices.
• Establish active relationships with Safety Managers of GC partners.
• Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
• Investigate industrial accidents, near-miss incidents, and occupational injuries to determine causes, install preventive measures, and manage return-to-work activities.
• Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.
• Order and maintain facility safety inventory including supplies and equipment.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum 3 years large scale commercial, government, or industrial management level safety profession experience.
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry

Standards.

• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) certification required or obtained within 1 year of position acceptance.
• Thorough knowledge of the OSHA 1926 Construction Safety regulations.

Salary:

• $75,000-$125,000 Based on training and experience.
