Civil Technology is Hiring a Program Site Safety Manager Near Denver, CO

Job Summary:

This Site Safety Manager will ensure compliance with the Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program (ROCIP) safety requirements. This position will work closely with the CM/GC construction team and their subcontractors to promote a culture of safety and continue the Program’s excellent safety record. The Site Safety Manager will focus on site safety surveillance and identification and resolution of any site safety concerns.

The Site Safety Manager will participate in regular safety meetings with contractors to ensure compliance with all program safety requirements and best practices.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities and duties of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 Review and accept Site Specific Safety Plans and Task Specific Safety Plans.

 Review Contractor Safety Representative qualifications in conjunction with the Construction Safety Team for acceptance.

 Compile, follow‐up, and maintain safety performance statistics for the project. Communicate information to the project’s management team and Construction Safety Manager to ensure they are informed of the safety program status.

 Keep apprised of new regulations and developments to keep the safety policies and procedures current and effective.

 Observe Contractors’ and Subcontractors’ activities to evaluate safety performance and make appropriate recommendations and ensure compliance with approved plans.

 Review and communicate methods and procedures to foster the highest level of accident prevention performance possible.

 Participate in Contractor Safety Representatives incident investigations as deemed necessary. Review all accident investigation and near miss reports to ensure thorough investigations were conducted to control future accidents and communicate lessons learned.

 Periodically attend Contractor safety toolbox meetings, orientations, and review JHA’s or SOP’s to ensure content and quality are being achieved.

 Review and evaluate Contractors’ safety program to ensure it meets the standards of the Contract and all approved pre‐planning safety documents.

 Conduct periodic Contractor Safety Meetings to discuss current work activities, review ROCIP Safety Manual revisions and/or share lessons learned.

 Periodically conduct audits to ensure contractor compliance with and enforcement of the terms of the ROCIP Safety Manual.

 Confer with the Construction Safety Manager on Contractor inquiries regarding ROCIP language interpretation and requests for safety variance. Any safety variance may be granted and/or revoked at any time at the owner's sole discretion.

 Provide visible safety leadership through application of the Program’s safety values.

 Coaching and mentoring of CM/GC and subcontractor personnel as needed.

 Daily and main point of contact for all on‐site safety concerns.

 Monitor and observe all active construction areas to identify any safety risks.

 Maintain safety records in accordance with ROCIP requirements.

 Lead or participate in regular site safety meetings and any necessary safety stand down meetings.

 Promote the Program’s overall Health and Safety culture, awareness, and performance. We are looking for collaborative and optimistic candidates who enjoy building relationships and working with all levels of an organization. In addition, we are looking for individuals with some or all the following skills and experience:

 Excellent verbal and written communication

 Ability to manage multiple competing project priorities

 Strong research capabilities and desire for ongoing learning

 Demonstrated experience building relationships with internal and external stakeholders

 BCSP Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential

 OSHA 500 construction safety training certification

 At least 10 years of experience in construction safety with preference for working on large, occupied renovation projects.

 Performing industrial hygiene monitoring in construction and facility environments

 Other HSE related training – Working at heights, confined space, etc. are considered a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
