Job Description

The SAT Prep Teacher is a part-time, hourly position responsible for supporting scholars with preparation for the SAT test in the spring. This individual will teach four cohorts of junior scholars, providing instruction and tips to help scholars succeed on the SAT test. The SAT Prep Teacher reports to the High School Principal.

Job Responsibilities

· Teaches four periods of SAT Prep once a week.

· Provide scholars with strategies to help them succeed on the SAT test.

· Support scholars with instruction related to the SAT test.

· Administer practice quizzes and tests and collect data to target specific scholars.

· Create weekly plans for the SAT instruction and submit to the Principal for feedback.

· Communicate with families as needed to support scholars preparing for the SAT.

· Issue grades for scholars and collaborate with the College Counselor to make sure grades are inputted.

Job Qualifications

· Unwaveringly high expectations for all students with the belief that every child should have access to a college education.

· Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred

· Strong working knowledge in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Google Docs, Naviance, and PowerSchool.

· Prior experience working with high school students and the SAT Prep field.

· Fast learner with the ability to inquire and an openness to feedback.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of teachers.

· Analytical problem-solver and solutions-oriented strategic thinker.

· Professional demeanor, strong work ethic, detail-driven work style with excellent organizational skills.
