Job Description

ENL Specialist – Bronx, NY: Oversee the testing and retesting process of the organization’s program for students identified as Multilingual Learners (MLLs). Oversee the creation of, and execution of, modifications for MLLs. Perform in an instructional role within the school co-teaching and providing pull-out services as needed. Create lessons for small groups of students that support MLLs. Create and execute engaging lessons that support all students in making progress toward complete immersion. Collaborate with the Dean of Student Supports and general education teachers in coordinating schedules, modifications, and accommodations for all MLLs.

Assist the Dean of Student Supports in facilitating professional development related to support for MLL students.

Job Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in English or English as a second language (ESL).

Must possess at least an Initial Certificate in the subject area of English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESL) issued by the New York State Education Department.

Ability to collaborate effectively,

Ability to stay organized and effective, and strong communication skills required.

Must possess a track record of supporting Multilingual Learners to achieve high levels of growth.

Must have proof of legal authority to work in the United States.
