Position Summary
Lee Machinery Movers (LMM) is seeking candidates to join a growing company and department for the position of Safety Technician. Previous SAFETY experience with automotive, heavy machinery, cranes, or heavy industrial machinery will leverage your expertise. Your ability to be a self-motivated individual but also a team player will help solidify your position as a representative of safety at LMM.
We are seeking a Safety Technician to play a vital role in supporting the organization's safety programs and ensuring a safe and compliant work environment for employees. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting in the implementation of site safety, safety policies and procedures, conducting safety inspections, providing training, and supporting incident investigations. Your role is crucial in promoting a strong safety culture and preventing workplace accidents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure effectiveness of all site safety initiatives and ensure adherence and compliance of site personnel.
  • Perform daily on-site inspections and address unsafe working conditions or act by providing feedback as required.
  • Conduct safety meeting and educational programs as directed; interface with labor and management representatives to discuss and resolve any safety items.
  • Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities by bringing them to the attention of the Project Manager and Supervisor.
  • Advise contractors of safety requirements at pre-construction meetings and review contractor safety programs to ensure they meet the site’s own safety standards.
  • Conduct accident investigations and submit reports to corporate safety.
  • Document all accidents, safety violations, unsafe conditions/activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Teams
  • Ability to maneuver through various software programs simultaneously.
  • Ability to use search tools, browsers, email, attach files, scan, and fax.
  • Possess strong oral/written communication skills.
  • Communicate effectively, tactfully, and courteously with all internal and external customers to exchange and convey information.
  • Ability to work with some degree of independence where judgment and discretion are applied

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years' prior safety experience within heavy machinery, heavy cranes, or heavy industrial machinery
  • Possesses OSHA-30 Construction card or have ability to obtain within first 30-days of employment.
  • First CPR AED card or ability to obtain within first 30-days of employment.
  • Experience as Safety Technician within the Automotive Industry working with GM, Ford, or Stellantis.
