Title: National Account Manager

Location: Virginia Beach, VA (in-office)

Job Overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for generating and increasing sales with key retail partners in a competitive market. This involves developing and implementing sales strategies, conducting program presentations, and engaging in detailed analysis to drive product sales. You will be building and nurturing strong relationships with buyers and merchants who have a significant impact on purchasing decisions, as well as with managers responsible for operational execution. The ideal candidate should possess strategic thinking abilities, be adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously, have strong analytical skills, and be proactive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, pitch, execute, and evaluate sales programs for decision makers at various accounts.
  • Set and achieve targets for sales and profit margins.
  • Regularly analyze point-of-sale data and manage program efficiency and margin contributions.
  • Collaborate with product development teams for promotional and value-add initiatives.
  • Identify new product opportunities and market trends.
  • Organize and conduct program summaries, market analysis, and future plans.
  • Oversee all product line reviews and meetings.
  • Generate comprehensive market summaries.

Qualifications:

  • 2-10 years of product sales experience. Added plus if selling to big box accounts, live goods experience, or similar experience.
  • Demonstrated success in account management, particularly in retail.
  • Experience with live goods, perishables, or seasonal products is a strong plus but not required.

Skills:

  • Analytical and strategic planning abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills.
  • High motivation and proactive work style.
  • Independent initiative and responsibility.
  • Strong capabilities in data analysis and application.
  • Background in customer marketing, trade marketing, or business strategy is advantageous.
  • Excellent management and interpersonal abilities.
  • Hands-on approach.
  • Proven track record of converting sales leads into customers is preferred.
