Lee County Government is Hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator (Pipe/Sidewalk) Near Fort Myers, FL
- Installs, replaces, and repairs drainage pipes, catch basins, sidewalks, driveways and sod.
- Loads dump trucks, pick up trucks with trailers.
- Mix mud for concrete side walks.
- Lay block; Lay pipe driveways.
- Set up and maintain MOT (Maintenance of Traffic).
- Grind down sidewalk.
- Cut down trees from right of way.
- Unclog catch basins of debris.
- Clean pipe ends by hand.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School graduation or GED equivalent and one year of heavy equipment operation or closely related experience.
- Possession of a valid Class B CDL with airbrake endorsement and an acceptable driving record is required.
- Possession of IMOT certification, or the ability to obtain the certification within six months of hire date is required. (Training and testing will be provided in-house).
- This is a safety-sensitive position, which is subject to Drug & Alcohol Workplace testing as provided in DOT regulation 49CFR-parts 40 and /or 382.
- The work days and hours are Tuesday - Friday 7:00am - 5:30pm.
