Definition and Primary Objective:
This position’s objective is to work on a team to accomplish tasks and projects that are instrumental to the agency’s success. The Accounting Specialist will manage all records of daily bank activity, cash receipt posting, internal credit card requirements, entering of non-ACH accounts payable data and mailing vendor payments.
Primary Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Reconcile cash receipts to daily bank activity.
- Enter all data in daily bank activity workbook (e.g., cash receipts, ACH credits) to Learning Grove’s accounting software system in a timely manner.
- Ensure all receipts have complete documentation and are centrally and electronically stored.
- Manage Learning Grove’s credit card process, and ensure all users submit complete and accurate statements monthly.
- Ensure all credit card transactions are coded correctly and entered to Learning Grove’s accounting software to support a timely month-end close.
- Manage the following functions of the accounts payable process:
- Record non-ACH invoices in accounting software system and reconcile Vendor statements.
- Develop strong relationships with Center and Department Directors to ensure timely approval of invoices.
- Ensure all invoices are coded correctly and entered timely enough to pay before due date.
- Ensure invoices have complete documentation and are centrally and electronically stored.
- Meet deadlines established by the Controller.
- Participate in accounting projects as required.
Other Duties as Assigned
Associate's Degree (AA) in Accounting or equivalent experience required.
2-3 years' experience
Strong MS Excel skills required.
Candidate must be analytical, strong problem solver, detail oriented and organized.
Physical Demands:
Be able to lift 20 pounds and work in an office environment.
Compensation details: 45000-55000 Yearly Salary
