League One Volleyball is Hiring a Director of PRO Volleyball Operations/Technical Director Near Omaha, NE

About LOVB (League One Volleyball):
League One Volleyball (LOVB) is reimagining women's sports. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, training and media enterprise that will change the game of volleyball in the USA and empower new generations of female athletes.
It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are female). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands and media.
LOVB will capture this opportunity by creating a strong club business and from that built-in audience and fandom create the best Pro League in the world and use a digital media platform that will connect all aspects of LOVB. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport.
Position requires nights and weekends for home and away competition and training. Position will travel with the team to away competitions. This position has a start date of October 1, 2024.
The Role
As the Director of Volleyball Operations/Technical Director you will oversee core operations including:
  • Information and Event Management: Assist with logistical and support aspects of team and staff for events, meals, functions, appearances, etc.; Act as point person for players with questions, concerns, and inquiries.
  • Manage all aspects of team operations and facilities: Coordinate team times for practice courts, weight room, video room, storage and sports medicine room needs; Act as Team Liaison for facility scheduling with club and local operations staff; Schedule & staff pre-competition weekend practices for visiting team(s) and home team; Organize the ordering, receiving and distribution of all equipment, apparel, training equipment, volleyballs and other needs with central staff.
  • Oversee team travel: Coordinate all travel including hotel reservations, flight arrangements (with travel agent), ground transportation, meals, etc; Responsible for travel budget and ensuring travel expenses remain in budget.
  • Team training responsibilities: Manage all team needs for training and access – court and equipment set-up, towels, laundry, building access; Assist with practice planning and ensure all technical and operational functions are assigned for practice drills and activities.
  •  Personnel management: Have oversight of Team Manager(s) and Volunteer(s); Designate assignments/game duties for training and home competition; Manage scheduling for appropriate coverage.
  • Partnership and relationship management: Build effective partnerships with vendors/sponsors and co-workers by sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed; Ensure optimum service to all internal and external partners and the public in response to all requests for service and information; Maintain an environment that is welcoming to everyone.
  • Coaching: May serve as Assistant Coach in training sessions for skill instruction, conducting drills, assist with opponent and self-scouting, competition preparation and position specific training, as needed
  • Technical Coordinator: Responsible for team VolleyStation use and set-up
Core qualifications
● Must have previous volleyball experience. Experience with volleyball operations, coordination and management
● Partnership and relationship management experience
● Facility operations and management experience
● Experience in training center scheduling, operations and staffing
● Knowledge of international and professional volleyball
Preferred skills
Experience with VolleyStation use, set-up, coding and analysis. (Other volleyball specific coding and video analysis system acceptable in lieu of VolleyStation.)
Location
● This position is based in Omaha, NE. There is no relocation package.
● Reports to the Head of PRO Volleyball Operations, located in North Carolina.

The pay range listed reflects the full pay range for this position. Salary offers are made based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. Individual pay is adjusted as performance is demonstrated and sustained at increasingly competent levels over time. With approval, experienced employees with critical skills may be hired above this guideline.
