The Transaction Management Team is primarily responsible for the evaluation, execution and oversight of all aspects of the reconciliation and corporate actions process between Brown Advisory and its custodian banks. The team works closely with other operational groups to ensure the firm’s books and records are accurately reconciled for daily trading and reporting needs. A successful candidate will be a proven self-starter with an owner/operator mentality who must bring strong accountability, knowledge and detail-orientation to the organization. Ideal candidates demonstrate the ability to independently identify risk areas and streamline processes through improved controls and innovation. The primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Research, evaluate, and process mandatory corporate actions daily. Own all aspects of the voluntary corporate action lifecycle for the firm’s investments, including event research, election management, submission to custodian banks, and post-event reconciliation. Conduct daily reconciliation of portfolios using available custodian reporting and subject matter expertise to resolve and direct the resolution of breaks. Provide direction to Brown Advisory’s 3rd party reconciliation team on the proper resolution of various discrepancies to manage downstream impact. Evaluate corrective entries in portfolio accounting system and share with appropriate teams. Participate in the review of such corrective entries to verify accuracy. Generate ideas for, and contribute to the development of, various reports and metrics related to workflow improvement and performance analysis in an effort to enhance the client experience. Proactively analyze key work drivers and identify opportunities to reduce manual processes through various methods, including automation and other technologies. Lead and contribute to firm-wide and departmental value-add projects and initiatives in addition to general responsibilities. Identify and execute enhancements to existing workflows and processes to create an improved operating environment by instituting best practices through collaboration with internal and external resources. Understand structure of income payments, corporate actions, asset transfers, and other client impacting events and their effect on the reconciliation process. Manipulate large quantities of data to update transactions within the firm’s portfolio accounting system.
