LCS is Hiring a Benefits Analyst II Near Des Moines, IA

Responsible for administering the day-to-day operations of benefit plans. The benefit administrator also provides excellent customer service by interacting with corporate and community employees and participants through phone calls and emails. Makes recommendations for efficient administration of programs and provides analytical and subject matter support.

The Role: 

  • Serve as primary assigned contact for day-to-day service and administration of benefit programs including health & welfare and retirement programs. 
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of general health benefits, retirement plans, and insurance carrier and company terminology. 
  • Prepare and send timely responses and documentation to employees within established guidelines. 
  • Research and resolve concerns and issues from employees related to their benefits or system elections. 
  • Ensure plans and programs are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations, plan/policy provisions, or established company policy. 
  • Collaborate with corporate accounting and payroll to resolve discrepancies relating to employee coverages and payroll deductions. 
  • Update and maintain benefit-related data in corporate system and vendor systems to ensure accuracy. 
  • Complete system testing related to annual enrollment or system upgrades. 
  • Assists the Benefits Manager and 3rd party record keeper as needed. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Experience: 

  • Minimum of two years in Human Resources or benefit-related role required. 
  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related experience preferred. 
  • Strong PC skills and ability to use and administer specialized computer applications. Oracle knowledge preferred, but not required.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Ability to use assume responsibility and maintain discretion in working with sensitive and/or confidential information. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail including the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet multiple deadlines while handling multiple projects and priorities at the same time. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with excellent customer service skills. Proactive and responsive resolution of employee issues in a quick, friendly, and efficient manner. 
  • Understanding of applicable regulations related to benefit plans. 
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Travel Frequency: 10-15%

Estimated Salary Range: $60,000 - $68,000

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
