Laurel Medical Clinic is Hiring a Certified Medical Assistant For Hire! Near Austin, TX

About the job 

We are actively in search of an empathetic and highly committed Certified Medical Assistant to become an integral part of our esteemed medical team. The selected candidate will be greeted with a host of engaging responsibilities that encompass a spectrum of clinical and administrative duties, all of which significantly contribute to the seamless functioning of our healthcare practice. Collaborating harmoniously with our team of dedicated medical professionals, you will be at the forefront of delivering compassionate patient care and orchestrating the efficient flow of daily operations.

Duties: 

  • Assist healthcare professionals, such as physicians and nurses, with patient examinations and treatments.
  • Obtain and record patients' medical history and vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies.
  • Administer medications, injections, and vaccinations under the direction of a healthcare provider.
  • Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urine tests, and specimen collection, and prepare specimens for testing.
  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments, surgeries, and laboratory tests.
  • Update and maintain electronic health records (EHR) accurately and securely.
  • Provide patient education and instructions on medications, procedures, and follow-up care.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including answering phones, managing patient records, and processing insurance forms.
  • Handle billing and coding procedures, ensuring accurate documentation for insurance claims.
  • Prepare and sterilize medical instruments and equipment to maintain infection control protocols.
  • Assist in minor surgical procedures and wound care, including dressing changes and suture removal.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards in all patient interactions.

Requirements

  • Have essential computer skills and experience with electronic health records systems
  • Display strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Must be 18 years old and older
  • Must submit proof of COVID vaccination
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing high level of customer service.
  • Must have the ability to perform in a high-pace, busy, and demanding environment.
