- Spearhead value engineering projects from idea to commercialization.
- Interpretate and apply ASTM and ICC Specifications to ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations and protocols.
- Evaluate pool structural strength using hand calculation or computer simulation (FEA)
- Work closely with manufacturing engineering, product design, production to improve the material utilization in the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with product management, benchmark competitor products and propose alternative design ideas.
- Actively participate in funnel building activities.
- Define product specifications and qualification criteria.
- Develop design concept, create detail design drawings, build prototypes and verify the change in house and with key customers.
- Write test plan and design/build test equipment as needed.
- Conduct FEA on new and existing products, interpretate the results and provide guidance for design improvement.
- Conduct validate test, in lab, at production floor and installation site.
- Collect and analyze test data, draw conclusions, and write test report.
- Maintain accurate records of design change.
- Maintain and update BOM and validation documents.
- Interface with supplier to resolve DFM issue and ensure the supplier quality.
- Collaborate with cross functional team for smooth project execution and implementation.
- IIdentify and escalate opportunities for improvement of cost productivity to management.
- Assist automatic manufacturing initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, or civil engineering with 5 years of experience
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics and analysis, failure modes, how to set up structural analysis methods to ensure failure modes are clearly understood and margin to failure is quantified.
- Ability to decide and apply proper structural analysis methods to ensure the compliance with regulatory requirements.
- FEA modeling and analysis experience, as well as applying hand calculations/handbook methods where appropriate.
- A strong hands-on ability and mindset of getting-thing-done.
- Proficient with 2D drawing, 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred), PDM, DFMEA, Root Cause Analysis etc. engineering tools.Be comfortable developing test procedure and conducting structural testing, interpretate the results, and correlate with product performance.Ability to work with minimum guidance.

- Up to 10% overnight travel can be expected.
