Your Opportunity Impact
LDG is offering the following full-time opportunity, for an Environmental Specialist. This position is for an experienced individual that can apply fundamental principles of environmental science to a wide array of projects at LDG. This position helps to ensure the success of clients & projects and closely interacts with clients and fellow team members to ensure total client satisfaction is obtained while meeting financial goals. The Environmental Specialist will interact with clients, vendors, and staff to ensure project goals are met. This position also works as a member of a team to help identify and solve complex environmental and agricultural issues.
This environmental specialist position can have an emphasis or expertise on any of the following disciples: watershed management, wetland delineations and mitigation, NEPA permitting, agricultural planning and design, stream restoration, abandoned mine drainage or stormwater management.
Subjects may also include watershed studies and planning, community outreach, and grant writing and administration. Understanding the bidding process and working with contractors during construction and Pa Chapter 102 and 105 permitting experience is a plus.
The ideal candidate will be well versed in both the technical aspects of this work as well as business development skills and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Performs and/or coordinates field work schedules to include preparing schedules and assigning tasks for staff.
  • Interacts with clients, the public, design teams, and agencies.
  • Closely tracks time spent on tasks and projects to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Works closely with and fosters positive relationships among the team.
  • Oversees preparation and submission of designs and documents.
  • Can establish standard operating procedures for different types of design projects.
  • Recognizes opportunities for new projects and assists Technical and Project Managers with developing leads into new business.
  • Provides guidance for technical staff and answers technical questions that arise.
  • Assists with client development activities as directed.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Agricultural Science or related field of study.
  • Experience: minimum 7 to 10 years job related experience.
  • CADD and GIS capabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of HEC-RAS or stream modeling is a plus.
  • Occasional to frequent overnight stays. Local, extended distance, and overnight possibilities.
