    SUMMARY: This position, for both permanent and substitutes, is responsible for transporting students to/from school, field trips, or activities. Drivers are responsible for preventative maintenance and coordinating scheduled and corrective maintenance to ensure vehicles are in good operational condition, thus ensuring the safety of students and passengers during transport, and while loading and unloading from buses. Drivers are also responsible for passenger management while operating district buses.

Follows disciplinary procedures outlined by the Transportation Department and LCSD1 and communicates any issues that may contravene LCSD1 Administrative Regulations, Chapter V, Section 10 to parents and supervisors.     3. Monitors students and other passengers for appropriate behavior to enforce established passenger safety rules and guidelines. Assist students and other passengers, as necessary, to ensure safe loading and unloading from buses during normal transport and emergency situations.       LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:
    • Must be at least 21 years old
    • Must obtain and maintain a minimum of a Wyoming Class B Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) with P and S endorsements by the conclusion of the district-provided training course
    • Must obtain and maintain a Department of Transportation Medical Examiner’s Certificate upon offer of employment
    • Driver insurability via the district’s insurance required
    • Must obtain and maintain Defensive Driving and CPR/First Aid Certificates by the conclusion of the district-provided training course
