Supportive Housing Residential Assistant is responsible for assisting the Program Director in all aspects of supportive housing operations to ensure compliance with all regulatory and/or agency requirements, as well as funder policies and procedures. The Residential Assistant will be the initial face seen upon entry to our Supportive Housing sites therefore, they play a major part in the monitoring of the site while providing excellent customer service. The Supportive Housing Residential Assistant will be responsible for providing a safe, structured, supervised, and accountable environment for all the residents, their guests, and the staff. The Residential Assistant also helps coordinate and participates in in-house activities, including recreational activities.
Essential Functions
Lantern's Supportive Housing Residential Assistant ensures the safety and security of all clients, visitors, staff, and property. This is accomplished by performing the following functions:
The person filling the Supportive Housing Residential Assistant position is expected, under close supervision, to: (1) maintain access control and traffic inside the facility to maintain order and security of Lantern Tenants, staff, and Lantern's property; (2) detect and/or prevent fires, vandalism, theft, or infractions of the rules; (3) provide directions to visitors when requested.
The Supportive Housing Residential Assistant participates in special projects whenever assigned by senior management and performs any other duties, consistent with the goals and objectives of the program, as assigned by the Program Director, Senior Vice President, Vice President and/or Assistant Vice President.
Minimum Education/Experience Required:
Work Environment: This job operates in a supportive housing environment and works with a population who may suffer from mental illness, substance abuse, disability, HIV/AIDS and/or other health issues.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, climb stairs and/ or kneel. Occasionally the employee will have to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
