Job Summary

The Manager, Title will lead and manage all title-related operations and executive-level reporting within LandSolutions, focusing on the United States and its clients as directed by the Vice President, Land & Engagement. This role carries responsibility for development and leadership of the title division, ensuring timely project coordination and adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and LandSolutions’ operating principles. The Manager,Title will also spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge technology and software solutions while cultivating internal and external relationships. Business development efforts are integral to this position, involving the establishment of strong external connections and the identification of growth opportunities in alignment with the company's strategic vision.

Accountabilities:

Internal

  • Lead the strategic direction for the title division, encompassing current and potential business verticals in the United States.
  • Efficiently manage and optimize all title-related operations, including the formulation of policies and training programs for new team members.
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of title operations, including executive-level reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with other divisions to define and execute a digital strategy aligned with divisional and organizational objectives.
  • Spearhead innovation in digital technology and software solutions, benefiting both the company and clients.
  • Establish and nurture a high-performing in-house title team.
  • Supervise and manage team members effectively.
  • Work closely with the executive, business development, marketing, and leadership teams to bring added value to the marketplace, acquire new clients, and foster revenue growth.
  • Achieve annual goals, contributing to performance enhancement across divisions.
  • Cultivate relationships with potential clients to create fresh business prospects.
  • Initiate business development activities to generate new opportunities and bolster revenue.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic planning, and budgeting.
  • Ensure effective communication and updates to clients, administrators, team members, and the executive team.
  • Collaborate closely with People & Culture on recruitment efforts for relevant roles, including pre-screening candidates and ensuring proper licensing, credentials, and business insurance.
  • Utilize and support LandSolutions systems, ensuring all staff have appropriate training for maximum efficiency.
  • Approve all contract and employee title agent payroll and invoices.
  • Manage conflict resolution and workload delegation to team members based on client requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain corporate utilization rates collaboratively determined with the VP, Land & Engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with the Manager, Land Analysts/Document Specialists to guide and assist administrators/document specialists and agents in administrative duties, acquisitions, and other field-related matters.
  • Ensure messaging to stakeholders aligns with both client and LS expectations.
  • Offer assistance with complex files and propose solutions to meet client needs.
  • Prioritize meeting deadlines and ensuring client priorities are addressed.
  • Prioritize safety, taking necessary actions to protect oneself and others, using safety equipment, and reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses. Ensure the completion of trip planners for yourself and your direct reports.
  • Comply with LandSolutions policies, procedures, applicable laws, and the OH&S Act.

External:

  • Maintain proactive and consistent communication with clients, ensuring their expectations are met and strong client connections are sustained.
  • Continuously seek awareness of new business opportunities that align strategically with LandSolutions' objectives.
  • Assist in building relationships with potential clients.
  • Actively participate in industry events and conferences.

Proposal and Business Development Responsibilities:

  • Fully integrate and utilize CRM to manage regional sales tasks, pipeline, and closing data.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on market strategies, maintaining relationships with existing customers, acquiring new customers, creating business opportunities, and driving revenue growth.
  • Proactively communicate with clients and staff to ensure a clear understanding of proposal requirements and compliance with timelines.
  • Gather necessary information for executing RFPs from both internal and external requests.
  • Compile proposals that meet the expectations of the requesting organization while showcasing what LS can offer.
  • Manage the status of proposals submitted by following up and seeking feedback on unsuccessful proposals.
  • Communicate to leadership any recommendations for changes to proposals, providing support and rationale for the recommendations.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the title industry (other relevant work experience or education may be considered).
  • Experience in midstream pipeline, renewable power, telecommunications, and oil and gas in the United States.
  • Strong attention to detail, effective communication, and conflict management experience are required.
  • Thorough knowledge of all applicable acts, guides, and regulations in US title operations.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Valid passport or the ability to obtain a valid passport is required.
  • A strategic leader with excellent verbal, written, and communication skills, capable of connecting, interacting, and motivating others at all levels.
  • Ability to strategize, plan, and direct growth opportunities.
  • Goal oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Industry experience in land access and title requirements for various industries.
  • Excellent customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiating skills
  • Proficient in creating and delivering presentations.

  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and time constraints
  • Ability to worker under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel at least 20% of the time.
